The St. Petersburg Bar Association is the latest of a host of bar groups around the country to plan trips to Cuba to explore business opportunities on behalf of clients and take advantage of President Barack Obama’s easing of diplomatic relations with the Community country.
The response in St. Petersburg has not been overwhelming, however, with just nine of the 1,000 bar members signing up for a four-day trip to Havana scheduled Aug. 9-13. Some blame the summer heat.
