One of South Florida’s leading luxury shopping malls is suing Bal Harbour village and its vice mayor in a public records dispute.
The family behind Bal Harbour Shops sought communications by Vice Mayor Patricia Cohen about the mall and its competitors before a crucial public hearing and Village Council vote decided plans for the retail center’s expansion — a proposal that’s bounced back and forth between the local government and the mall’s founders for years.
