Former Bacardi chairman and chief executive officer Ruben Rodriguez died at his home in Darien, Connecticut, a spokeswoman said.
Rodriguez, 79, retired from the company in 2005 after leading the company through strong growth in sales and earnings and overseeing the acquisition and integration of Grey Goose vodka and Cazadores tequila, the company said.
