A candidate for the judicial seat being vacated by Palm Beach County Court Judge Laura Johnson filed the latest challenges to Gov. Rick Scott’s appointment powers.
Criminal defense attorney Gregg Lerman qualified Friday for a race against Magistrate Thomas Baker to fill the county court seat, but the Palm Beach Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission published an interview schedule Wednesday for 39 applicants seeking judicial appointments, including Johnson’s old seat.
