Whitney Untiedt

When the Florida Supreme Court declared long-term to life prison sentences for convicted adolescents unconstitutional last March, the Southern Poverty Law Center turned to Akerman partner Whitney Untiedt to make sure that any eligible offenders obtained proper legal counsel. As the director of the law firm’s pro bono initiatives, Untiedt had a proven track record for leading efforts that provided legal representation for juveniles who can’t afford a lawyer but desperately need an advocate willing to fight their case.
