If there’s any doubt that South Florida’s real estate boom is slowing, take a look at the region’s latest construction data showing construction activity plunged in April.

The $1.6 billion worth of construction starts seen in March dropped to about $438 million last month, according to Dodge Data & Analytics, a national provider of construction data. The value of South Florida ground breakings was down 51 percent in April from a year before.
