The Florida Supreme Court issued a show-cause order Monday against Broward Circuit Judge John Contini, who offered ex parte sentencing tips to a public defender.
The court wants a response by July 5 on whether it should adopt a state Judicial Qualifications Commission recommendation calling for a public reprimand, written apology, stress management counseling and three years of mentoring for misconduct when he was new to the bench.
