Edwards Cos. has acquired a two-block property in downtown Delray Beach, where the Ohio-based developer plans to build a mixed-use project featuring luxury condominiums, office space and retail.

In a deal valued at $38.5 million, Edwards picked up about 9 acres between Atlantic Avenue and Northeast First Street from its former partner, CDS International Holdings Inc. The deal, which closed June 14, positions Edwards to move forward with its plans in “full momentum,” said Don DeVere, vice president of the company.
