A Missouri man told authorities he was the first to hit a doctor over the head with a hammer in an attack at her southwest Florida home, according to court documents.

New details about the killing of Dr. Teresa Sievers at her Bonita Springs home were revealed in a motion filed Friday by the attorney for the doctor’s husband, according to a report by The News-Press.
