Survivors of two young siblings who were slain in their Plantation home rejoiced in February 2015 when the Florida Supreme Court declared their right to $1.8 million from a jury award.
A Broward jury had decided the owner of Gatehouse on the Green Apartments was negligent in failing to protect Clara Sanders, 20, and her brother Chauncey Sanders, 17. They were shot and killed Sept. 7, 2005, by someone who came to their door. The entrance gate, broken for four months, was fixed the next day.
