A homeowner has prevailed in a construction dispute.

Samir Amin alleged that Tile & Carpet of Altamonte Springs LLC was hired to perform construction work at Amin’s home. Amin claimed he was dissatisfied with the quality of the work performed by Tile & Carpet. Rather than initially filing suit, he and Tile & Carpet entered into a settlement agreement in June 2015. However, the company failed to make payment as set forth in the agreement, Amin alleged. When Tile & Carpet failed to answer the complaint for alleged settlement nonpayment, the court entered a default judgment against it and awarded Amin $25,000.
