A jury found a theater partially liable after a stampede injured a patron.

Maria Navas was watching a film at a Regal Cinemas theater in Miami Beach when patron David Martin allegedly became involved in an argument with two other patrons in 2012. Martin allegedly yelled at the two other patrons. The audience, sensing danger, stampeded from the theater, and Navas was trampled. Navas was diagnosed with a fractured foot, which required surgery. Navas sued Regal Entertainment Group Inc. and Martin. The company added Martin as a Fabre defendant.
