The Brazilian arm of Mayer Brown has opened a new office in Brazil’s capital and hired the country’s former attorney general and confidant of ousted president Dilma Rousseff to focus on cases in the Superior Court of Justice and Supreme Court.
Luis Inacio Adams, 51, who stepped down as minister and attorney general at the end of February, will lead Tauil & Chequer Advogados’ new Brasilia office as a partner in its litigation and compliance practice. Tauil & Chequer is one of Brazil’s largest firms.
