A group of Miami-Dade County commissioners on Thursday will consider a controversial proposal to make workforce housing mandatory in most sizable developments.
The overlying goal is to allow the workforce population — think teachers, police officers and hotel employees — to live near their jobs, said County Commissioner Barbara Jordan, who introduced the ordinance in May.
