Sergio Alvarez-Mena, the former head legal counsel for the 11 U.S.-based private bank offices of Credit Suisse Securities, has joined the financial institutions litigation and regulation practice at Jones Day in Miami.
The move comes at a time when international private banking is under regulatory pressure related to tax transparency and anti-money laundering efforts. In his new position, Alvarez-Mena said he will help financial institutions work through the challenges and compliance costs of regulation.
