On Oct. 20, the Children’s Services Council of Broward County authorized the budgetary authority to request letters of interest to contract with provide attorneys for children in the child welfare system.
This action was prompted because Broward’s lead agency, ChildNet, is facing a crisis since the system has been overwhelmed with the influx of approximately 1,000 children during the last year.
