Prominent foreclosure defense attorney Bruce Jacobs is taking on a new role in a Miami-Dade courtroom: political maneuverer.

Jacobs, in his capacity as a Bernie Sanders delegate to the Democratic National Convention, is co-plaintiff in a lawsuit to oust Florida Democratic Party chairman Stephen Bittel. His suit survived a motion to dismiss Thursday, when Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh allowed the complaint to move forward but refused to prevent the party from certifying Bittel’s election.
