Broward Circuit Judge John Patrick Contini appeared contrite as he was publicly reprimanded Tuesday by the Florida Supreme Court for actions he took early in his judicial career.

Contini was reprimanded for violating four canons of the Judicial Code of Conduct stemming from an email he sent to an assistant public defender. The email contained advice about how to phrase motions for lighter sentences for convicted criminals.
