Miami attorney Annie Hernandez and Florida Bar President Bill Schifino will be among the members of the state’s Constitution Revision Commission, Florida Senate President Joe Negron announced Wednesday.
Negron filled nine of the 37 seats on the commission, which is tasked with proposing amendments to the Florida Constitution in 2018. The group will spend the next year conducting public hearings around the state before drafting the amendments, which go straight to the ballot for approval from Florida voters. This revision process happens only once every 20 years.
