I retired as chief judge of Chattahoochee Hills Municipal Court on Dec. 31, 2016, and one year previously as an associate judge for Fulton County Juvenile Court. My wife, Beverly, and I moved to a building on Galt Ocean Drive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just last month. We were delighted to discover that one of our new neighbors is retired Justice John Paul Stevens.

After several conversations with this esteemed justice, I am happy to report that, at age 96, he maintains that same intellectual sharpness today for which he was so famous on our nation’s highest bench.
