When Hersha Hospitality Trust was ready to expand its Miami footprint in Coconut Grove, the company turned to two Shutts & Bowen lawyers.

Miami partners J. Donald Wasil and Alexander Tachmes helped Hersha add the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove to its portfolio for $36 million. They guided a smooth transaction between its client, the Philadelphia-based hotel real estate investment trust, and the seller, Gencom, a Miami hospitality group, in Hersha’s second purchase in Coconut Grove.
