A Smith Barney financial consultant in Miami who was fired for turning in an order ticket three minutes late has won a $3.6 million arbitration award, including rare punitive damages.

A three-person National Association of Securities Dealers panel in Boca Raton, Fla., held that Citigroup Global Markets Inc. breached industry customs and practices, engaged in unfair competition and did not provide Juan Miguel Garcia with adequate management assistance.
