Partner, McFadden White Sprattlin & Davis

The only lawyer Jamala McFadden had ever heard of growing up was Clair Huxtable from “The Cosby Show.”

McFadden says she did not discover her passion for practicing law until high school, when her homeroom teacher forced her to join the understaffed mock trial team.

“Even though I went in kicking and screaming with my arms folded, I loved it,” she says. “For the first time, that's when I thought this is something I could do.”

Now an attorney with The Employment Law Solution, a four-woman partnership thought to be one of the only all-female, all-African-American defense firms specializing in employment and labor law, McFadden has coached mock trial at Therrell High School for 11 years in an effort to “pay it forward.”
