Georgia law school deans said they are trying to figure out why pass rates for the Georgia bar exam dropped for the second year in a row, by conducting detailed analyses of July exam score data released by the Georgia Office of Bar Examiners last week.

The two-year declines in the pass rate are part of a national trend.

The overall pass rate for Georgia law school graduates taking the state bar exam for the first time has dropped from 88.8 percent for the 2013 July bar exam to 84.5 percent in 2014, to 77.8 percent this year.
