Your law school is about to hit a major milestone, but how to celebrate?

At Emory University School of Law, you invite not one but two former presidents and throw a huge party. Bill Clinton is headlining the law school's Centennial Gala on Saturday. He proved such a draw that attendance—at $150 a pop—outpaced the space at the upscale Atlanta hotel where it was planned.

Last week, the school relocated the black-tie optional shindig to Emory's campus gymnasium due to “the enthusiasm for this historic event,” as Emory Law Dean Robert Schapiro put it in an April 21 email to gala ticket holders. The switcheroo did not escape the notice of the astute writers at Above the Law, who deemed the location a serious downgrade.
