A Fulton County jury has awarded $867,000 to a man who suffered gastrointestinal lacerations and scarring after being served a soft drink laden with glass shards at a Kennesaw restaurant.
Describing the case as “cringeworthy,” plaintiff's attorney Christopher York said the parent company of California Dreaming Restaurant admitted liability for the 2013 incident but denied that it seriously injured the man.
York said his client, Rafael Herrera, is no longer able to drink alcoholic or carbonated beverages and must avoid eating spicy, fried, citrus or tomato-based foods.
