Big firms and big donations dominate the discussion during the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy, the two-week event in which law firms and other organizations compete to raise the most for the state's food banks. But when the donations are tallied, small firms do particularly well, especially because the top award is measured by pounds donated per employee.

So it was in 2017 that Jenkins & Roberts, a four-person business law and general shop in College Park, took home the Attorney General's Cup after donating the equivalent of 7,605 pounds of food per employee.

Firm principal William Jenkins said he and his colleagues were inspired to participate when they learned about the need, especially during summer months, when children lose access to food assistance at school. “No child should ever be hungry because food is not available to him or her,” he said.
