Practice Profile: Desai protects and counsels the owners of well-known brands such as Ludacris and King of Pops. He has led Arnall Golden Gregory's efforts to enhance its trademark practice by migrating to a digital infrastructure. The result is a visible increase in brand counseling and related intellectual property advice business for the firm. Before entering law school, Desai was an e-commerce consultant for an accounting firm. He joined AGG in the litigation practice, but when litigation work shrank during the Great Recession performed transactional work in intellectual property and technology, building practice through internal and external presentations on IP due diligence and writing on technology deal trends.

Leadership Activity: Desai co-chairs the firm's diversity committee and worked to help AGG initiate a childcare subsidy for employees and formalize and publicize its flexible work arrangement options. Desai also works with the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program and is a committee member of the nonprofit International Trademark Association, volunteering his time setting up programming, providing content and participating in panel discussions and webinars to help law firms improve their trademark practices.

Pro Bono and Civic Work: Desai volunteers in the University of Georgia's master of laws degree program for foreign-trained lawyers, mentoring two students from Asia on IP practice in the U.S. He also regularly meets with minority law student associations.
