Practice Profile: Maxwell represents clients in middle-market corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. His clients include private equity and venture capital firms, individual angel investors and angel investor networks. Maxwell has represented a private equity-backed portfolio company in its $125 million acquisition of a tax compliance software business. He also represented the founders and management team of a health care company in a $250 million sell-side transaction.

Maxwell started Morris Manning & Martin's Angel Network, which connects early-stage technology companies with sources of capital. He also launched and leads the transactional franchise law practice. This area focuses on representing franchisors and franchisees in financings, acquisition and dispositions.

Leadership Activity: Maxwell is a board member of the Technology Association of Georgia's Corporate Development Society. He serves as co-chair of Venture Atlanta's nomination and section committee, which chooses companies to present at Venture Atlanta, the largest technology investor conference in the Southeast. Maxwell is on the board of directors at Startup Atlanta and is active with Atlanta Technology Angels and Southern Capital Forum.
