A Cobb County jury cleared a doctor and Wellstar Health System administrator of liability in the death of a young inmate who died after being diagnosed with advanced cirrhosis and alcoholic hepatitis while jailed on drunken driving charges.

Downey & Cleveland partner Curtis Anderson said Justin Graham had been held for more than two weeks for violating probation on an earlier DUI arrest before he was moved to the hospital, where he spent more than a month before dying. Anderson represented the defendants.

Graham was arrested in May 2006 when police allegedly found him passed out in his car with a .274 percent blood alcohol content, more than three times the legal limit for intoxication.
