As a young lawyer at Arnall Golden Gregory, Bill represented clients in the vegetable oil business and successfully fought requirements that their cream and margarine products be called “imitation.” Those experiences led him to develop a practice representing food, medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

He served as managing partner of the firm from 1996 to 2008, often addressing and evaluating merger proposals from larger firms during a period of rapid consolidation in the legal industry. Ultimately, AGG determined that it wanted to remain independent. He also chaired the Atlanta Legal Aid Society's annual fundraising campaigns in 2008 and 2009, at the start of the Great Recession yet was able to meet the campaign goals both years, raising more than $3.3 million. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1973.

Obviously Arnall Golden Gregory has evolved a great deal in the 43 years you have been there. What's changed the most—and what's changed the least?
