Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr filed a lawsuit Tuesday against a company that offers hot air balloon rides, helicopter tours and flight lessons, alleging misleading internet advertising and deceptive sales practices.

Marvelay of Kennesaw, operating under the names “Spot Reservation” and “Rushcube,” stands accused of selling services it doesn't actually provide, then either booking them with third parties, or failing to show up at all—leaving birthday parties, anniversary celebrations and marriage proposals without their main event.

The would-be partygoers or prospective brides and grooms may have traveled for hours to participate in the activity they purchased, according to the complaint. In addition to the financial loss, these disappointments have an “emotional expense,” Carr said in a news release Wednesday.
