The Atlanta Bar Association is throwing an end of summer party, “Yacht Rock for Lawyers,” this Friday featuring retro rockers the Yacht Rock Revue in lieu of its annual LawJam fundraiser.

Yacht Rock Revue, the nationally known '70s and '80s tribute band based here in Atlanta, is taking the stage while LawJam, the homegrown battle of less-well-known lawyer bands, takes a hiatus this year.

The infectiously smooth rockers have been named by Creative Loafing as “Best Overall Music Act in Atlanta” as well as the “Best Excuse to Get Drunk With Your Dad,” and they have attracted a national fan base, dubbed the Nation of Smooth, for spot-on renditions of the best of Steely Dan, Toto, Chicago and other soft-rock classics.
