A Macon-based wastewater treatment company won a post-apportioned award of more than $1.3 million against its former accountant blamed for errors that ultimately destroyed the business.

The jury awarded $1.8 million in damages, but assigned 25 percent of the blame for the losses to Density Inc. and two affiliated companies. Plaintiffs attorney Brian Adams said a midtrial high-low agreement capped any award at about $1.3 million and eliminated any appeals or other posttrial litigation.
