Georgia Legal Professionals: Welcome to the new Daily Report, part of the new law.com network!
We're excited to share improvements we've made to the way we present news, analysis, and insights about the practice of law in the Peach State—and from across law.com, the network of ALM legal magazines, journals and newsletters.
Don't worry: you'll still have access to all the great coverage of Georgia's courts, law firms, government and legal community that you've come to expect from the Daily Report, as well have the ability to surface easily all the great and relevant content to you from across law.com.
We know it's local coverage and insights that keep our thoughtful readers coming back, and we'll continue to provide it—in all the ways to which you've grown accustomed, as well as some new and creative ways.
If you're looking at this on your phone or mobile device, you're already experiencing one of our biggest improvements, a responsive design that allows for easier viewing and navigation of our offerings. You'll be able to keep updated more easily on the biggest verdicts, court decisions and law firm news impacting Georgia legal professionals, as well as breaking news alerts.
The new site also makes it easier for us to link directly to video and audio offerings, including the podcast “Unprecedented,” which focuses on technology, the law, and the future of litigation.
Nevertheless, the finer points of your practice area, or perhaps simply your curiosity, can bring you beyond Georgia's borders. A lawyer who practices class actions and mass torts in Atlanta as a partner at a midsized firm will want to know what's happening in consequential cases in New Jersey, California, or Illinois courts—items they can find in New Jersey Law Journal, The Recorder or the National Law Journal. That same partner will want insights on how other midsized firms are handling such high-impact issues as rate pressures, mentoring, compensation, diversity and cybersecurity, topics covered by The American Lawyer and our other regional publications. Our reporters and editors across ALM's brands are providing that vital information every hour. And so the new law.com allows you to access stories from across the universe of ALM legal publications. Our new shared platform allows you to see on law.com the big stories of the moment, as well as all the other recent coverage from all of our reporters, desks and bureaus.
We've gone about making these improvements with a couple of things in mind:
First, lawyers today rarely have the luxury to stay in one lane over the course of their career–or even a single workday.
Second, the profession is under a lot of pressure and is changing rapidly.
Our reporters and editors talk to lawyers like you every day. We know it's more important than ever that you stay on top of developments across multiple areas of interest: there's your practice areas or legal specialty; there's our local professional community and legal network; and there are the companies—both household names and fledgling startups—that make this such a vital place to work and live.
Please take a few minutes, look around the site, and let me know what you think.
