Food Frenzy Surges $38K, Seeks $37K in Final Hours
One in four Georgia children is food insecure.

The Atlanta portion of the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy has gathered $38,000 for the Atlanta Community Food Bank in the past 21 hours.
With just over nine hours left in the two-week campaign/competition, organizers are seeking $37,000 more to reach its $250,000 goal. Given that the Food Bank can stretch $1 into four meals, meeting that goal would amount to having provided one million meals for hungry families.
The following top teams are battling for bragging rights in the competition: Joe S. Habachy PC, Attorney at Law; $22,275; King & Spalding, $18,950; Georgia Institute of Technology Office of Legal Affairs, $11,936; Troutman Sanders, $8,351; Jenkins & Roberts LLC; $8,045, Serta Simmons Bedding LLC, $7,105; Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, $6,346; DeKalb County Public Defender's Office, $5,096; Chick-fil-A, $5,030; Office of the Attorney General, $5,005.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
