On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Sarah Hawkins Warren of Atlanta, solicitor general in the Office of the Georgia Attorney General, on her appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as a justice on the Supreme Court of Georgia. She will succeed Justice Britt Grant, who is now a judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Upon her swearing in, Justice Warren will be well served by her 10 years of experience as a member of the State Bar of Georgia, including her recent service as solicitor general and, previously, as deputy solicitor general and special counsel for water litigation in the Georgia Attorney General’s office; in private law practice in Washington, D.C.; and as a law clerk for Judge Richard J. Leon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and for Chief Judge J.L. Edmondson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
