The Anti-Defamation League is honoring Debbie Segal, Louise Sams and Jason Esteves for their efforts to “secure justice and fair treatment for all” at its annual Jurisprudence Luncheon on March 12.

The group will make its Lifetime Achievement Award to Segal, the retired pro bono partner for Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton and former executive director of Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.

John Lewis Jr., who is co-chairing this year's luncheon, said in an announcement that Segal's “record of professionalism and commitment to, and support for, the delivery of pro bono civil legal services to the poor and underserved in Georgia are exemplary of the ADL values and mission.”

Sams, who is general counsel of Turner Broadcasting System, will receive the Elbert P. Tuttle Jurisprudence Award for her work in the community. Sams serves on the boards of groups including the Woodruff Arts Center, Meals on Wheels Atlanta and the board of trustees at Princeton University.

“Louise's professional and civic leadership is the gold standard,” said Lauren Estrin, an ADL board member and lawyer for Turner Sports.

The ADL's Young Lawyer Award, for an attorney under age 36 who contributes to the ADL's mission of justice and fair treatment, will go to Jason Esteves of Equifax for his work with the Atlanta Public Schools as the chair and an at-large representative for its board of education. Esteves is focused on promoting equality and improving the financial outlook of the school system, according to the ADL.

“Mr. Esteves' courage, integrity and personal example embody the traits for which this award was created,” said Jason Carter of Bondurant Mixson & Elmore, who is co-chairing the luncheon with Lewis.

The Jurisprudence Luncheon will be at the Westin Peachtree Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 12. Tickets are $125. Consult the ADL website at www.adl.org/JPATL2019 or call 404.262.3470 to RSVP.
