Jake Evans of Holland & Knight is stepping into a leadership role with the Republican National Lawyers Association.

The group's regional political director, Robert Sinners, told the Daily Report Tuesday that Evans is set to become chairman of the Georgia Chapter. Sinners said Evans will replace the current chairman of the RNLA's Georgia Chapter, Mark Wortham of Hall Booth Smith, who is stepping down.

“Mr. Evans will be further expanding RNLA's Georgia Chapter, including growing a rotation of Republican lawyers throughout Georgia to assist with voter protection and election law issues,” Sinners said. “Given the recent increase in election law suits in Georgia in combination with Mr. Evans' election law experience and profile in the Georgia Republican Party, the RNLA is excited for his chairmanship.”

Sinners said the group will be hosting a number of upcoming events in Georgia, including panel discussions and happy hours.

Evans earned B.A and J.D. degrees from the University of Georgia. He moved from Thompson Hine to Holland & Knight this past October as an associate and member of the firm's Georgia Government Advocacy Team.

“We are fortunate that Jake has decided to continue to grow his successful practice here at Holland & Knight,” Robert Highsmith, head of the firm's Georgia Government Advocacy Team, said upon announcing the move. “He is an immensely talented lawyer who has earned widespread respect and admiration for his ability to solve the thorny governmental problems that businesses increasingly face. Our clients will benefit greatly from his public policy litigation and advocacy services.”

Evans represents individuals and corporate entities in complex litigation. He also represents individuals and corporate entities before government administrative agencies and licensing boards, and assists in responding to state and U.S. attorney general investigations.

Evans is a member of the Daily Report's On the Rise class of 2018.
