The State Bar of Georgia congratulates Ben Easterlin IV, executive director of the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) and State Bar past president, on the recent announcement of his retirement, and thanks him for his distinguished service to the people of Georgia.

Throughout his 45 years as a Georgia lawyer, Mr. Easterlin has devoted considerable time and effort to professional and public service. In addition to serving as president of the State Bar of Georgia in 1996-97 and chairing the boards of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Lawyers Foundation of Georgia, he was a member of the JQC—which investigates complaints of judicial misconduct throughout the state—for eight years, including a term as its chair. As that body’s executive director since 2017, he successfully managed a constitutionally mandated reorganization of the commission.

Ben’s colleagues in the Georgia legal community appreciate the many contributions he has made through his careerlong service to the public and the justice system. We wish him well in the years ahead.
