Former Atlanta Bar President Climbed Mountains to Help Aspiring Lawyers
David Schaeffer and his son Daniel scaled two of Colorado's tallest peaks to help raise money for a fund that defrays the cost of LSAT prep and bar courses for aspiring lawyers.

(Courtesy photo)The Summer Law Internship Program, which just wrapped up its 27th year, places students from metro Atlanta high schools with summer jobs and mentors at local law firms, corporate legal departments, courts and legal aid groups.
Schaeffer, who is a former Atlanta bar president, and his son Daniel climbed two of Colorado's famous "fourteeners" in July to raise $15,120 for the bar's Highest Heights Forever Initiative, a fund to defray the cost of LSAT prep and bar review courses for former interns undertaking the climb to earn a J.D.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
