The Summer Law Internship Program, which just wrapped up its 27th year, places students from metro Atlanta high schools with summer jobs and mentors at local law firms, corporate legal departments, courts and legal aid groups. 

Schaeffer, who is a former Atlanta bar president, and his son Daniel climbed two of Colorado's famous "fourteeners" in July to raise $15,120 for the bar's Highest Heights Forever Initiative, a fund to defray the cost of LSAT prep and bar review courses for former interns undertaking the climb to earn a J.D.
