Huff Powell & Bailey celebrated Gainesville partner Weymon Forrester's career and his 2019 Traditions of Excellence in the Practice of Law award with an event at Druid Hills Golf Club on Aug. 15. Forrester has litigated medical malpractice and general liability cases for the defense for more than 50 years. The State Bar of Georgia presented the award in June at its annual meeting on behalf of the General Practice and Trial Section. The award goes to four outstanding members of the bar: one plaintiff lawyer (Ken Shigley of Atlanta), one defense lawyer (Forrester), one general practice lawyer (Julius M. Hulsey of Gainesville) and one judge (Verda Colvin of Bibb County Superior Court). According to the firm, Forrester and Jim Brim formed the law firm of Forrester & Brim in 1988 and recently merged with Huff, Powell & Bailey, to form the Gainesville office of Huff, Powell & Bailey. Prior to private practice, Forrester clerked for Griffin Bell, then a judge on the U.S, Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Forrester is an Emory law graduate and a distinguished member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Photos are courtesy of the firm.
