Organizers of a two-day mock trial competition this weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center have said they are seeking lawyers to serve as volunteer judges and jurors for two days of trials and a championship round on Monday.

Educational nonprofit Empire Mock Trial said 350 high school students from three countries and 11 states will be in Atlanta to take part in the competition.

There will be two sets of Empire Atlanta mock trials on Saturday and Sunday, the first at 8:30 a.m. and the second at 1:45 p.m., with the championship round set to start at 8:45 a.m. Each trial is expected to last about four hours, including orientation, a meal and a five-minute feedback period at their conclusion. Volunteers will be provided with a breakfast and lunch; no litigation experience is required to serve as a juror.
