There are two ways to interpret the primary results that lead to the Aug. 11 runoff between Superior Court Judge Kathryn Schrader and Magistrate Judge Deborah Fluker for Schrader’s seat on the Gwinnett County bench.

  • Voters widely approve of Schrader, despite her indictment for computer trespass that was mistried in February; she led a five-candidate field with 37% of 162,219 votes, 17 percentage points ahead of Fluker.
  • 63% of voters prefer someone other than Schrader, and Fluker, with 20% was their leading choice.
