The Georgia Public Defender Council’s executive director will restore a nearly full complement of attorneys to the council’s appellate division by the end of September. 

But Executive Director Omotayo Alli said the division—which when fully staffed will include 11 attorneys and a manager—will be restructured so that for the first time an appellate lawyer will be assigned to each of the state’s 10 judicial administrative districts. Alli said she intends for an additional appellate attorney to operate without a district assignment.
