After canceling its annual October gala, the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia instead has established a racial justice grant for organizations serving Black transgender or gender nonbinary people.

“We can’t put on our big show, and we are reckoning with the social justice movement going on in the United States, so the board wanted to meet the moment,” said Stonewall bar president D. Barret Broussard, an associate at Clyde & Co. The group is Georgia’s professional association for LGBTQ lawyers, judges and allies.
