Former Georgia Attorney General Mike Bowers has left Balch & Bingham in Atlanta, where he was a partner for nearly 20 years, for an Athens law firm just 20 miles away from his Jackson County farm. 

Bowers, who turns 79 on Oct. 7, said he began work last Monday as senior counsel for Johnson Marlowe. The firm specializes in business law and complex litigation.
