McDermott Will & Emery has recruited an intellectual property litigation partner, Shane Nichols, from Alston & Bird for its new Atlanta office.

That now gives McDermott nine lawyers in Atlanta, and the firm is actively recruiting more. The firm opened the office in May with a three-partner M&A team from DLA Piper led by Frank Layson, the office’s managing partner, plus four IP litigators from Kasowitz Benson Torres and a cyber and data privacy law partner, Todd McClelland, from Jones Day.
