The Georgia Court of Appeals has partly revived claims by a veteran Fannin County teacher who said she was illegally stripped of her tenure and fired after the county switched to a charter school system in 2015.

A trial court judge threw out the lawsuit filed by teacher Rebecca Barnes and the Georgia Association of Educators against state and county education officials, ruling that they were protected by official immunity.
