The chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia is suspending in-person jury trials until further notice in the face of the escalating community spread of COVID-19.
Chief Justice Harold Melton told the state's judicial leaders in a meeting late Tuesday that he will suspend jury trials statewide starting Wednesday. Melton said he anticipates the suspension will last through February.
